Man's arm almost cut off while attempting to board boat

LAKE WACCAMAW, NC (WECT) – A man in Lake Waccamaw almost had his arm cut off Saturday afternoon as he was attempting to get on a boat, according to Lake Waccamaw Police.

Around 4:00 p.m., Brent Pait was trying to board the rear of a boat, but the boat's operator didn't see him and turned on the engine.

Police say the motor cut Pait twice in the arm severely , and once in the leg.

Friends said Monday that Pait was in a lot of pain but is recovering at home.
