WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – We're finding out more about the possible reasons why Revolution picked Austin, Texas, as the location for filming its second season. We were first to report over the weekend that Revolution is leaving the Port City for the Lone Star State. The production filmed its first season on location in and around Wilmington.

Austin's Director of Film Marketing, Gary Bond, said they have been working with the production for a few weeks and they're "delighted with the opportunity to host this excellent series."

When it comes to why the series picked Austin, Bond said, "I'm sure the decision had to do with locations and infrastructure, and I am sure our deep pool of experienced crew members was a major factor as well."

Bond tells WECT.com that Austin was named this year's number one "city in the U.S. to live and make movies" by MovieMaker Magazine.

Crew, infrastructure and locations were among the reasons cited for the designation.

Wilmington did not make that list.
