Chiropractor linked to federal investigation

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) – A local chiropractor is being linked to a federal investigation involving a number of vehicles.

Agents with Homeland Security and US Customs and Border Protection were in town on Monday confiscating nearly 20 cars.

Sources tell WECT.com Aaron Richardet is part of the criminal probe.

Richardet is reportedly a chiropractor in Wilmington.

According to a website, he also runs a local company called GB 4x4 LLC.

The website states "Aaron" as the point of contact if people are interested in buying refurbished rovers similar to the ones agents seized.

WECT.com made numerous attempts to contact Richardet, but he did not return our phone calls.

Richardet's wife told WECT they did not want to comment on the investigation and said this "is a hard time for their family."

A spokesman for ICE could not comment on the nature or details of the criminal investigation but did say a number of local agencies helped authorities confiscate the cars.
