WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Two years after a deadly wreck in Wilmington, a 74-year-old woman has been charged in connection with the crash.
The accident happened on October 7, 2010.
Police say Earl Randolph Oglesby, 81, was killed when Patricia Whitfield ran a red light at the intersection of Oleander and Country Club Drive.
Oglesby died a week later at the hospital of renal and respiratory failure.
Whitfield is now charged with misdemeanor death by vehicle.
Police say Oglesby's family asked officers to take a closer look at the case and that's why they decided to charge Whitfield now.
