Who collects the biggest state pension in North Carolina?

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) – Dr. Eric McKeithan recently retired after 18 years of leadership at Cape Fear Community College. His work is finished, but he continues to collect a six-figure paycheck each year.
The NC Treasurer's office reports that McKeithan can collect $14,296 a month, which totals more than $170,000 annually.
Still, McKeithan's benefit package does not crack the top ten government pensions in the state. Former New Hanover County ABC administrator Billy Williams does. Since 2011, his rank dropped two spots to the seventh-highest-paid pension. The names and figures listed below are current as of August 23, 2012.
- Dick Baddour - $278,139
- Bernadette Gray-Little - $211,430
- Larry Price - $208,166
- Charles Franklin - $207,954
- Dean Smith - $201,953
- Frank Wilson - $198,699
- Billy Williams - $194,858
- Johnny Wynne - $191,641
- Timothy Taft - $186,713
- John Kichak - $185,987
A spokesperson for the state treasurer's office said because McKeithan retired little more than a month ago, his pension could change based on final wages from his employer.
