WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - New Kids on the Block star Jordan Knight stopped by the Brigade Boys and Girls Club on Vance Street Saturday afternoon.
The surprise performance, announced just days ago, was part of the Old Navy Funnovation Nation party. Wilmington was one of four cities to win a free party after teens from the Boys and Girls Club put together a video explaining why they should be picked. Old Navy also gave a $10,000 grant to the club.
Knight says he was glad to help out, and that the organization is close to his heart.
"It's a place to go after school that is not the street," said Knight. "It's a place to go that has structure and that has a positive aim and positive goals and ideals. There are counselors and people to talk to and good activities to get involved in."
The grant money will go towards fixing up the Vance Street Facility.
