WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - After a first successful venture with the Cameron Art Museum, City Stage is producing another musical among the art.

The company first produced The All Night Strut in June. Now they're opening a second musical review called The World Goes 'Round.

"[It's] a combination of ballads and up tempo, light and fluffy numbers from some known musicals and some little known musicals by Kander and Ebb," said performer Michael Lauricella.

That's the duo who brought us such Broadway showstoppers as Cabaret and Chicago.

"You're going to hear New York, New York, Cabaret, Kiss of a Spiderwoman and lots of fantastic numbers that people know and recognize," said performer Mike Maykish.

They're all presented with a common thread that just about anyone can relate to.

"Each little scene presents its own little story on their perspective on love or loss or whatever it happens to be," said Maykish.

"This centers around relationships for the most part," said Lauricella. "There are lots of ballads, broken relationships, old relationships, new relationships, some that are a little risque."

But all of it is entertaining.

"I think it's going to be a fun evening of exciting music, some dancing, singing and lots of different flavors of music for everyone to enjoy," said Lauricella.
