ONSLOW COUNTY, NC (WECT/WITN) - A man from Wilmington died early Sunday morning in a head-on collision in Onslow County, according to WITN.

The station reports that 29-year-old Juan Torres, of Wilmington, drove a silver Toyota Celica across the median on Highway 17 South and crashed into a Dodge Charger.

The driver of the Charger, 24-year-old Christopher Brown was not alone in the car. The Marine stationed at Camp Lejeune was driving fellow Marine 26-year-old Juan Ruiz and 21-year-old Rossio Jordan. Jordan and Torres died at the scene.

Brown and Ruiz are recovering at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. Both are in stable condition.

Troopers with the State Highway Patrol say that Torres did not have a license and alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash.

Correction: WECT initially reported Brown was killed in the crash. Brown survived the crash and is recovering in the hospital. We apologize for the error.
