'Iron Man 3' wraps at the Cape Fear Club early
WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Film crews with Iron Man 3 wrapped up at the Cape Fear Club on Chestnut and Second Streets in Wilmington a little earlier than expected.
The production company issued a request to film at the location Tuesday from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. and planned to shut down Chestnut Street between Second and Third Streets from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m.
WECT was in the area around 7 a.m. Tuesday morning and spotted Robert Downey Jr. heading into work for the day.
According to security guard, filming wrapped in that location in about three hours.
Some local coffee shops reported a rush of business early on in the morning crew members' call times.
One fan says he's more interested in movie production than the star power attached to it.
"I don't mind if we don't really see anything here," said Evan White, who was near the production Tuesday. "I just like the whole process of film. It's kind of overwhelming to just see the expense."
A recent post on Facebook shows that Ironworks Productions also headed to Wilmington International Airport later in the day.
