Two injured following car crash; fire truck clipped

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – A car crash that happened early Friday afternoon led to a fire truck being hit.

The driver of a pickup truck was reportedly traveling southbound on Wooster Street when he came to a traffic light that was yellow.

The driver tried to avoid running a red light and ended up hitting another car.

The Wilmington Fire Department responded to that accident. Upon the department's arrival on scene, another car tried to go around the fire truck there and ended up clipping it.

The two people involved with the initial accident were taken to New Hanover Regional Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

The initial driver of truck has been charged with running a red light.

The fire truck is said to not have sustained any damage.
