WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - A new poll out from Public Policy Polling shows a virtual three way tie among Republican Presidential candidates in North Carolina.
PPP's poll shows Newt Gingrich with 25% of the vote, compared to Rick Santorum at 24% and Mitt Romney at 22%. Lagging behind are Ron Paul at 9%, Rick Perry and Jon Huntsman at 4% and Buddy Roemer with 1%.
While Gingrich is still on top, his support is down by half since last month in North Carolina. He was at 51% in December. Santorum jumped from 3% to 24% over the last five weeks.
