Laney assistant principal resigns, was under investigation
NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) – Laney High School's Assistant Principal Robin Lamberty officially resigned from New Hanover County Schools Monday.
Lamberty was suspended with pay at the end of last school year after allegations surfaced saying she had an improper relationship with a student.
The Pender County Sheriff's office completed an investigation into Lamberty's actions in September and found no evidence of wrongdoing. The school system, however, continued to investigate the allegations. At this time it is unclear if the school system completed their investigation.
According to a spokesperson for New Hanover County Schools, Lamberty earned at least $15,000 while on paid leave.
Lamberty was hired by New Hanover County Schools in August 2007 and started working at Laney in July 2010. She had previously been the reading coach at Snipes Academy.
