Asst. principal earns $15k while on paid leave
NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) – The assistant principal of Laney High School was suspended at the end of last school year after allegations of having an improper relationship with a student. She is not currently working, but is still receiving a paycheck.
Assistant Principal Stephanie Robin Lamberty was suspended with pay from Laney High School in June when the allegations surfaced.
The Pender County Sheriff's Office completed an investigation into Lamberty's actions and found no evidence of wrongdoing. The school system's investigation, however, is ongoing.
According to a spokesperson for New Hanover County schools, Lamberty has earned $15,000 while on paid leave over the past four months. They also said another employee is currently suspended with pay, but did not disclose their name.
