The man charged with shooting a Wilmington Police Officer last Friday appeared in court for the first time Monday.
Police say 21-year-old Kenneth Brown shot Officer Lance Reeves three times, after Reeves tried to break-up an attempted drug deal.
Reeves was wearing a bulletproof vest and his wounds are not considered life-threatening. Brown is charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, assault against a police officer, and possession of a firearm. Records in the county clerk's office indicate brown has also been convicted of common-law robbery and assault. His next court appearance is scheduled for january 16th. He's being held on five million dollars bond.
