Producer
Wilmington, NC

Kayloni Pachilis joined the WECT News Team in June 2015. She started as a new production assistant, then moved her way up to a morning producer for Carolina in the Morning in 2016.
She was born in 1988 at New England Air Force Base in Alexandria, Louisiana. Following her birth her mother was stationed at Fort Bragg in 1992. Her family called Fayetteville home until 2011—when her mother was stationed to Elgin Air Force Base in Florida. Her mother served 24 years in the Army reserves and 17 years as federal employee until her medical retirement in 2015.
Kayloni graduated from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke in 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in Journalism. During her time at UNCP, she worked at the Campus newspaper, The Pine Needle. There, she started as a staff writer---and by her senior year was Editor-in-Chief. She also helped launch an online version of the newspaper during the summer months. Additionally, she contributed work to the school’s yearbook, radio station, and campus news program.
In 2013, she moved to Wilmington and worked with a non-profit called FOCUS. The program zeroed in on growth opportunities in the Wilmington Metropolitan area. She worked at the program assistant and social media specialist until the program grant ended in 2015.
Kayloni moved to Charleston in 2016 and worked at WECT’s sister station, WCSC. There, she worked a year and a half as a morning producer. During her time there, she had the opportunity to field produce during the 2017 Cooper River Bridge Run.
Kayloni returned to WECT in January 2018 as a producer for Fox Wilmington News at 10.
