Daniella Hankey joined the WECT family in January of 2022.

Born and raised in the City Beautiful - Orlando, Florida, Daniella is thrilled to be closer to her hometown and by the beach.

Daniella returns to the East Coast after working in Wichita Falls, Texas, where she was the morning and noon anchor for three years at KFDX. During her time at KFDX, she worked on the “Remarkable Women” initiative which highlights outstanding women in the community who make extraordinary differences.

Before making her way to Texas, Daniella worked at WOAY in West Virginia where she started as a reporter and quickly became the Morning and Noon Anchor.

Daniella is a Stetson University graduate and holds a bachelor’s degree in Communications and Media Studies. During her time at Stetson, she was instrumental in initiating Hatter Network where she was the lead anchor. Daniella has covered a myriad of news stories, interviewing many dignitaries and politicians, as well as covering the Pulse Nightclub tragedy and Hurricane Matthew.

Daniella loves meeting new people, spending time with her furry friend Lexi, sharing breaking news and keeping the community and viewers informed about local events.

Daniella is extremely excited to call Wilmington her new home and share news with viewers every day. You can catch Daniella on WECT news at 4, 7 and 10. She will also focus on Live Alerts, OTT desk hits and inform you of the traffic as you head home from work.
