Officials identify motorcyclist who died days after crash on U.S. 74 East near I-140

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, N.C. (WECT) - Crews were dispatched to the scene of a crash involving a motorcycle and a semi-truck on U.S. 74 near I-140 in Brunswick County at 5:41 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 10.
According to an N.C. State Highway Patrol representative, the motorcyclist rear-ended the trailer and was transported to the hospital, where he died days later.
SHP has identified the motorcyclist as Jared Butler.
The semi-truck driver was deemed not at fault and didn’t receive any citations.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
