Owner of ball python comes forward after snake found at Walmart

PICKENS, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - A ball python found in a Walmart parking lot in the Upstate on Friday afternoon was initially adopted by an Upstate police officer, but the snake has since been returned to its original owner.

The Pickens Police Department began the search to hunt down the owner of the snake. Pythons are not native to the U.S.

When they couldn’t find the owner, Officer Alex Koppen with the Pickens Police Department decided to step up and adopt her.

However, on Wednesday, Koppen said the snake’s original owner came forward and they were reunited. The owner reportedly told police the snake got out of their garage and made it to the Walmart parking lot.
