First Alert Forecast: stormy Sunday, drier pattern in the new week
WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) - Good to see you! A front sagging in the Cape Fear Region will continue to bring the possibility of showers and a few heavy storms throughout the overnight hours. Keep an eye on the sky and the interactive radar on your WECT Weather App. Following a string of stiflingly hot and humid days, some storms may produce torrential rain, excessive lightning, and damaging winds.
Daily temperatures are likely to continue to soar into the sizzling lower and middle 90s as the workweek begins. Drier weather will also return on Monday and Tuesday.
Waves of one to two feet will sponsor a low to moderate rip current risk into the new week. Keep it safe in the 82-degree surf!
