NHC Sheriff’s Office arrest alleged heroin traffickers

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, N.C. (WECT) - Vice-Narcotics detectives arrested and charged two men on April 5, 2022 for allegedly trafficking heroin in New Hanover County.

A three-month long drug investigation by the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office (NHCSO) Vice and Narcotics Division led to the arrest of Justin Steele from Clarkton and Mallie Williams.

NHCSO said in a news release that on April 5 investigators learned Steele was delivering amounts of heroin in the Wilmington area and his vehicle had been seen parked on Kerr Avenue.

Detectives identified Steele as the driver and Williams as the passenger. A search of the vehicle revealed 400 bags of heroin.

Steele and Williams are being held in the New Hanover County Detention Facility and are facing drug trafficking charges.

Steele is being held under a $1.5-million bond and Williams is being held under a $1-million bond.
