WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) - In the midst of the North Carolina Azalea Festival, experts at the New Hanover County Arboretum encourage you to plant Azaleas to add spring color to your garden.

With over 10,000 named varieties of Azalea, New Hanover County Arboretum Director Lloyd Singleton and the Arboretum grounds maintenance supervisor share advice on what to look for when choosing azaleas.

Two main types exist: evergreen Azaleas are mostly native to southeast Asia whereas all North American species are deciduous.

Although relatively easy to grow, Singleton shares what problems you may encounter with Azaleas.
