Port City Marina announces free summer concert series

WILMINGTON, N.C. (CAPE FEAR WEEKEND) -

Looking for something fun in downtown Wilmington to do this summer? Port City Marina and Marina grill are partnering to offer FREE public concerts!

The Pier at Port City Marina which borders the Cape Fear River and the USS North Carolina Battleship will be hosting a new Friday night concert series called “Friday Night Live!”. Port City Marina will be hosting nine different tribute bands playing all your favorite covers. These concerts will be from 7:30 PM - 10PM, and the schedule will be released soon.

On Saturdays the “Saturday Sunset Series” presented by Marina Grill will host local and regional musicians. This series runs from April 16th - October 29th. Performance will be based on if Live Nation is hosting a concert next door so that the performances don’t overlap. The first band Machine Gun will start the series April 16th.  

Wristbands will be available for purchase for those 21 and up for $1 to enjoy alcoholic beverages. This money will benefit a different local charity every week.
