ATLANTA, GA (WECT) - UNCW sophomore Brooke Knisely finished sixth in her 500 Freestyle heat at the NCAA Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships in Atlanta Thursday morning.

Knisely, who is the first Seahawk swimmer to compete in the NCAA Championships since 2013, wound up with a time of 4:48:55, good enough for 53rd overall in the event. Lia Thomas of Penn was the leading qualifier in the heats with a time of 4:33:82.

Knisely is not finished at the NCAAs. She also qualified in the 1,650 Freestyle event, with the preliminaries scheduled for Saturday at 3:45pm.
