WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) - Lacrosse and pickleball are two popular sports but not traditionally found in physical education classes for middle school students. That’s why Ms. Wolf at Wilmington Preparatory Academy is hoping to raise enough money through DonorsChoose to purchase equipment for her students.

DonorsChoose is an online charity that helps teachers get funding for school projects.

“I believe allowing these sports to be introduced will assist my children in learning fine/gross motor skills such as hand-eye coordination,” Wolf said on her DonorsChoose page. “I also added in a floor mat for foot/hand races. These races will allow my students to have to think hard before making the next step.”

Wolf still needs $484 to buy the equipment. Once she is fully funded, DonorsChoose will purchase the equipment and deliver the items to the school.
