Two die in motorcycle wreck on MLK Parkway
WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) - Two people died after a motorcycle struck a guardrail Sunday night in New Hanover County.
According to Sgt. Adams with the State Highway Patrol, a Harley Davidson driven by Patrick Jernigan, of Wilmington, ran off the road and struck a guardrail just before 8 p.m. Sunday on MLK Parkway near Hwy. 133.
Jernigan, 52, and a passenger on the motorcycle, Holli Vanover, 38, of Leland, were pronounced dead at the scene.
According to Sgt. Adams, speed is believed to be a factor in the wreck.
