WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) - With such a high demand and limited supply, New Hanover County has already filled all of the available appointments for COVID-19 vaccines, and, for the time being, are not making any new appointments.
However, a rumor has apparently been circulating that residents hoping to get the vaccine can call the Coronavirus Call Center to get their names put on a list for future vaccines. Something the county is saying is not true.
“The Coronavirus Call Center is not creating a wait list at this time for future appointments, and no new appointments can be made until Public Health receives the next vaccine shipment. When scheduling resumes, the public will be notified,” according to the county’s Facebook page.
The county is currently in Phase 1b, group 1, which includes individuals 75-years-old and up, however, all appointments through today are full and no new appointments are being made.
Scheduling for appointments will resume when more vaccines are sent to the county from the state - the county will let people know when that happens.
