HICKORY, N.C. (WBTV) - A Newton man is facing charges after police say he used a racial slur and threatened to shoot a juvenile employee at a local restaurant.
The incident happened on Sunday at the Zaxby’s on LR Boulevard SE in Hickory. Investigators say 53-year-old Jimmy Mott went through the drive-thru then, after leaving, called management to complain.
That’s when police say Mott used the racial slur and threatened to shoot an employee he had interacted with while ordering food, who was a juvenile.
Mott was later arrested and charged with ethnic intimidation. He was given a $1,500 unsecured bond.
No further information was released.
