WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) - While the polka music was silenced this year, fans of Polish food can still get a taste of some of their favorite dishes.

The annual St. Stanislaus Polish Festival in Castle Hayne was canceled due to COVID-19. However, organizers of the event announced instead, they will sell frozen packages of pierogi, kielbasa and potato pancake batter on Sat., Dec. 5 from 9 AM to 1 PM.

The sale will happen at St. Stanislaus Church, 4849 Castle Hayne Rd., Castle Hayne, NC.

Organizers posted a list of the items and prices on Facebook.

This sale will be held as a drive thru. Visitors are asked to enter through the parking lot on Marathon Ave.

Cash and all major credit cards are accepted.

The Polish Festival, an annual event that usually takes place on the first Saturday in November, attracts thousands from the region.

The event is the church’s largest fundraiser of the year.

It has only been canceled once before, following Hurricane Florence in 2018.
