WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) - Douglas Emhoff, the husband of Democratic vice presidential nominee Kamala Harris, will make a campaign appearance Tuesday in Wilmington.
The visit comes on the heels of Joe Biden’s visit to Durham on Sunday.
According to a press release from the campaign, Emhoff will take part in Early Voter Mobilization Events to urge attendees to cast their ballot during early voting, which lasts until Oct. 31.
“Each event will highlight the stakes of this election and build upon the energy that voters have to build back better from the COVID-19 crisis and put Joe Biden and Kamala Harris in the White House,” the press release stated.
Emhoff will also discuss “Biden and Harris' plans to put working families first and fight for North Carolinians every step of the way.”
The event is taking place at Buck Hardee Field at Legion Stadium at 2149 Carolina Beach Road. Gates opened at 11 a.m. and the pre-program is set to begin at 12:30 p.m.
Emhoff is slated to arrive at approximately 1 p.m.
