MINNEAPOLIS, M.N. (WECT) - Minnesota Twins catcher Ryan Jeffers drove in two runs helping lead the Twins past the Detroit Tigers, 6-2, on Monday.
The former UNCW standout gave the Twins a 1-0 lead in the 3rd inning when he hit his first career home run to deep center field.
It was also the first home run hit by a UNCW player in the Major Leagues.
Jeffers finished the afternoon 2-3 with two RBI and a run scored.
