Crews respond to shed fire in Southport area

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, N.C. (WECT) - Crews were able to quickly contain a shed fire in the Southport area early Friday morning.

According to the Southport Fire Department, a neighbor spotted flames in the 4800 block of Gina Street just before 5 a.m. and called 911.

It was a fully involved fire when crews arrived at the scene.

Two sheds were destroyed, and no injuries were reported.

Officials believe the cause of the fire was storm related.

Southport Fire Department responded to a residential shed on fire this morning before day break. Appreciate Station 35 and Whiteville FD for their assistance.
