Man dies after shooting on Pinecrest Parkway

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) - Wilmington police say a man died after a shooting on Pinecrest Parkway Wednesday night.

Officers responded to the scene just after 10:30 p.m. When they arrived, they found Donald Wayne Gurganious suffering from a gunshot wound.

Gurganious, 57, was taken to New Hanover Regional Medical Center where he died from his injuries.

The Wilmington Police Department says the shooting still is under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact the WPD at 910-343-3609. Tips can be submitted anonymously here.
