COMMUNITY CLASSROOM: Teacher hopes to help students start a business
Mrs. Edwards calls her classroom at Whiteville High School “home” for many of her students and strives to provide all she can for them.

WHITEVILLE, N.C. (WECT) - Mrs. Edwards calls her classroom at Whiteville High School “home” for many of her students and strives to provide all she can for them. She says the love her students have for one another is so rich.

“I am so thankful and blessed to have such a wonderful group of ladies and gentlemen in my classroom that love me as much as I do them!” Mrs. Edwards wrote on a post on the Donors Choose website.

The high school teacher is asking for donations to purchase tools needed to allow her students to start a business within her class. She hopes to teach them skills they can utilize post-graduation, like budgeting.

“My students will learn how to manage and operate a balloon business including: creating columns, arches, centerpieces, and balloon gifts. As well as operating a custom designed T-shirt business,” Mrs. Edwards wrote.
