Wilmington firefighters travel to Outer Banks to help with storm recovery

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) - Several Wilmington firefighters traveled to the Outer Banks over the weekend to assist with clean up and repairs in the wake of Hurricane Dorian.

According to Natosha Vincent with the Wilmington Fire Department, nine firefighters with the Local 129 association filled a truck with supplies and equipment and traveled to the area that was devastated by the storm.

The firefighters are expected to return to Wilmington on Wednesday.
