BELVILLE, N.C. (WECT) - Officials with the town of Belville on Thursday announced they have reached their goal of 200 bricks sold for a veterans memorial park.
“We are proud and honored to report, with the outstanding community support, that we have reached our initial goal of 200 Engraved Bricks ordered to fund the Riverwalk Veterans Memorial Project,” the town said in a Facebook post.
In May, the town launched the Buy a Brick fundraiser with the hope of having the memorial built by Memorial Day 2020. Due to community response, it will now be completed by Veterans Day on Nov. 11.
Town officials are still taking orders for bricks and previously said they will donate all proceeds from brick sales after hitting their goal to a local veterans group.
