WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH, N.C. (WECT) - An inspection of the Wrightsville Beach drawbridge will cause lane closures Wednesday, May 22.
The eastbound and westbound outside lanes will be closed intermittently between 9 and 11 a.m., according to the N.C. Department of Transportation.
At least one travel lane will remain open in each direction at all times.
On Tuesday, May 21, the NCDOT will hold a public meeting at the Wrightsville Beach Recreation Center at 4 Russ Dr. to discuss options to replace the drawbridge. An open house will take place from 4:30-6:30 p.m. with a brief presentation planned for 6:30 p.m.
More on the replacement concepts being considered can be found here.
