Gaming business operator charged after ignoring warnings

COLUMBUS COUNTY, N.C. (WECT) - A video gaming establishment in Columbus County is in hot water after ignoring warnings to stop giving cash payouts.

Undercover agents executed a search warrant at an established located in the 12,000 block of Highway 701 South in the Sidney community.

The agents were able to go into the business and play the available video gaming machines. They were given cash payouts for their winnings, which violates North Carolina General Statues.

Authorities sezied cash, several gaming machines and marijuana stashed in the office of the establishment.

William Murray Brown, 60, was arrested and charged with operating video gaming machines and possession of marijuana.
