Crime Stoppers offers cash reward in pair of hit-and-run cases

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) - Crime Stoppers of the Lower Cape Fear is offering a cash reward for information leading to arrests in a pair of recent hit-and-run cases in Wilmington.

The first hit-and-run involved the driver of a silver Jeep Cherokee running a stop sign and striking a 23-year-old man skateboarding in the 500 block of Martin Street on April 17. Police say the victim suffered multiple broken bones in the collision.

The second hit-and-run took place at the intersection of Shipyard Boulevard and South 17th Street on May 8. Police say the driver of a black BMW hit a pedestrian who was attempting to cross the street. The suspect then ran over the victim’s foot as he was fleeing the scene at a high rate of speed.
