WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - The Wilmington Police Department is looking for a driver who struck a pedestrian last week then fled the scene.
According to WPD officials, officers and EMS responded to the intersection of Shipyard Blvd. and S. 17th Street at approximately 11 a.m. on May 8.
The victim told officers he was walking northbound on 17th Street when a vehicle turned on to Shipyard Blvd. from S. 17th. The vehicle struck the pedestrian on his left side then ran over his foot as the driver fled the scene.
Police say the victim suffered broken bones in the incident.
The victim said the suspect was a white male in his late 20s with dark hair. He was driving a black BMW.
