OAK ISLAND, NC (WECT) -A couple in Oak Island decided to hold a skydiving gender reveal party on Saturday at the Cape Fear Regional Jetport.
The father of the child, Timothy Goodwin, did not know if the smoke on the ground would be blue or pink.
Crews at with Skydive Coastal Carolinas selected the color based on the sonogram that was sent to them.
Goodwin said the experience was unlike anything he has ever done and talked about the moments when he found out that he was going to have a daughter.
“When we hit the ground, one of the jumpers helped me up and first thing I was looking for was her and see how she was looking, and how excited she was. I’m glad we did it here, we couldn’t have picked a better place and a better idea for a gender reveal.” Goodwin said.
Goodwin’s mother, Lori Blackwell, also went along for the ride and said this event was amazing for the whole family.
“It’s the greatest bonding experience the son and his mom, he played football I couldn’t play football, so this is really my first opportunity to do something of what he would like to do and in such a big way.” Blackwell said.
Dozens were around to watch this skydiving gender reveal, including family members and close friends.
