Columbus County Sheriff’s Office investigating early morning homicide

COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WECT) - Sheriff’s deputies are investigating an early morning homicide outside the Sandyfield community in Columbus County, according to the Whiteville News Reporter.
The News Reporter says a man was shot at a home on Shaw Road early Saturday morning close to the Bladen County line. New Hanover Regional Medical Center contacted the sheriff’s office about a shooting victim Saturday.
No word yet on the victim’s name, or on a suspect. The incident is still under investigation.
