WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - The Southeast’s largest angel investment network aims to connect investors with entrepreneurs as it expands into Wilmington.
VentureSouth operates in 13 other communities, providing angel investors with access to deals with high-potential companies throughout the Southeast.
The group invests in early-stage companies that seek anywhere from $250,000 to $1 million.
So far, its 300 members have invested $35 million in more than 60 companies in the Southeast.
Rob Kaiser, publisher of Greater Wilmington Business Journal and WILMA magazine, serves as the director of VentureSouth Wilmington.
He joined us on WECT News First at Four on Tuesday.
"Growing our angel investment community, giving our entrepreneurs greater access to capital and seeing strong deals from throughout the Southeast are significant steps toward putting Wilmington on the map as a region with a strong entrepreneurial culture," Kaiser said.
