WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Wilmington’s annual Earth Day Festival was held Saturday at Hugh MacRae Park.

The City of Wilmington’s Stormwater Services and Heal Our Waterways sponsored the free event.

This year’s theme was “Change Your Actions, Change the Planet.”

“We only have one planet," Elissa Riley of the Wilmington Earth Day Alliance, said.

“I’m a huge nature lover. It’s all up to us as individuals [to save the Earth] and so I find it responsible to do my part and I think it’s important to encourage others to do the same so the festival is a great way to do that,” she said.

Visitors to the Stormwater Services booth had the chance to win prizes and learn about protecting waterways from pollution, The Heal Our Waterways interactive booth featured waterway-friendly practices and the chance to win a free rain barrel.

There was a Kid’s EcoZone, live music and food and beverages.
