Pender County Sheriff’s Office searching for man wanted in double homicide

IVANHOE, NC (WECT) - The Pender County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a man in connection to a double homicide Sunday.

Someone called 911 around 12:30 a.m. Sunday to report shots fired and two injuries on Halfway Branch School Road in Ivanhoe. Deputies found two people dead when they responded. .

The sheriff’s office identified the individuals as Marcus Lamont Coleman, 36, of Castle Hayne, and Dakota Ontaria Moore Jr., 30, of Harrells.

One suspect, Eric Jamel Pigford, 36, of Burgaw, has been arrested and charged with first degree murder. He is being held under no bond in the Pender County Jail.

Deputies are still searching for Jamie Dante Coleman, 31, of Atkinson in relation to the incident. Deputies said Coleman should be considered armed and dangerous. Warrants are out for his arrest for first degree murder.
