Miss America coming to Wilmington for Link’s annual brunch
Miss America 2019, Nia Franklin, will be in Wilmington March 16 for the 49th annual Link's Inc. Fine Arts Brunch

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Nia Franklin, Miss America 2019, will be in Wilmington on March 16 at the Wilmington Convention Center.

Franklin will appear as a special guest at the 49th annual Link’s Inc. Fine Arts Brunch. She is expected to make a few remarks at the sold-out event.

Franklin, a North Carolina native and East Carolina University graduate, moved to New York to further her music education. She was crowned Miss New York in 2018 and won Miss America 2019 on Sept. 9, 2018.

Miss America is not the only celebrity who will attend the Link’s brunch. North Carolina Supreme Court Justice Anita Earls will also be a special guest.

Earls, elected to serve an eight-year term as an associate justice of the North Carolina Supreme Court in November 2018, previously was a civil rights attorney with 30 years experience litigating voting rights and other civil rights cases in partnership with community-based organizations.
