WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - A TV show starring Abigail Spencer, which filmed its pilot in Wilmington, will return to film its first full season.
Hulu announced today it green-lighted a full season of Reprisal. The series will go into production later this year with Reprisal premiering in 2019.
According to Hulu, Reprisal is a “hyper-kinetic revenge tale following a relentless femme fatale (Abigail Spencer) who, after being left for dead, leads a vengeful campaign against a bombastic gang of gear heads.”
Bill Vassar, Executive Vice President of EUE/Screen Gems Studio, said in a statement, “After a successful pilot last fall, EUE/Screen Gems Studios is pleased to announce that the A&E Studios production of the Hulu series Reprisal will be shot in Wilmington later this year. As the industry evolves technologically so does the studio and the skill set the local crew. Reprisal will provide new high paying jobs for hundreds of people and pump tens of thousands of dollars into the local economy."
Vassar noted this is the second streaming service series shooting at the studio.
Filming continues at EUE/Screen Gems for the Warner Bros. Television series Swamp Thing for the DC Universe platform.
Produced by A+E Studios in association with The Littlefield Company, Reprisal also stars Rodrigo Santoro, Mena Massoud, Madison Davenport, Rhys Wakefield, David Dastmalchian, W. Earl Brown and Gilbert Owuor.
Josh Corbin created, wrote and executive produced the show. Executive producers are Warren Littlefield, Barry Jossen and Jonathan van Tulleken, who also directed the pilot. Ann Johnson and Graham Littlefield serve as co-executive producers.
