10th annual MLK Jam basketball showcase


WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Students might be out of school on Monday, but there will be plenty of high school basketball games in the area.

Trask High School is hosting the MLK Jam for the second consecutive year, and event organizer Nathan Faulk has added entertainment to the basketball lineup.

“We have the Laney step team,” said Faulk. “We have the Laney dance team. We have the Snipes Academy (Dribbling All-Stars) coming in to perform at halftime.”

Here is the basketball schedule: 10:30 a.m. —

Laney (girls) vs. Seventy-First (girls)

Noon — Seventy-First vs. Hoggard

1:30 p.m. — Laney vs. Hoke

3 p.m. — South Columbus vs. East Duplin

4:30 p.m. — South Brunswick vs. Purnell Swett

6 p.m. — Wilmington Christian Academy vs. Union
