Vandals deface sign honoring teen who died in Lake Waccamaw boating accident

LAKE WACCAMAW, NC (WECT) - The Lake Waccamaw Police Department is asking for the public’s help to track down the vandals who spray painted a sign honoring a Columbus County teenager who died in a tragic boating accident in 2016.

According to a Facebook post by the police department, the sign erected by the N.C. Wildlife Commission offers loaner life vests for boaters at Lake Waccamaw.

The sign is also dedicated to Raven Little-White, 16, who died from carbon monoxide poisioning while boating at the lake with some friends in August 2016.

The police department is asking anyone who has information about the vandalism incident to send tips via Facebook messenger.
