WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Happy Sunday to you! A cool low pressure system works through during the day, but temperatures will run in the more seasonable 50s, which will keep the chance of any wintry precipitation out of the forecast. This system moves out quickly and high pressure will return for the work week. What’s good about this system is what it won’t be:
- It won’t bring flooding. Total rainfall by the end of the weekend will be on the order of a few manageable hundredths or tenths of an inch and that shouldn’t be enough to trigger any flooding.
- It won’t bring hazardous wintry precipitation. Despite cool weekend temperatures, it won’t quite be cold enough for snow or ice locally. The Virginias and northwestern North Carolina could see some, though.
- It won’t likely produce severe storms. Temperatures won’t be warm enough to produce the surface instability needed for severe storms or embedded thunder whatsoever!
- Just a reminder! You can catch a forecast honed for your exact location on your free WECT Weather App. The forecast shown here is specifically for our Wilmington Metro zone.
Enjoy your day!
