WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - An overnight wreck knocked out the traffic lights at the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway and N. Kerr Ave. on Monday.
Police officers are directing traffic at the intersection and the traffic lights are expected to be out most of the day, according to the Wilmington Police Department.
Jennifer Dandron with the WPD said that officers responded to a wreck in the 4500 block of MLK Parkway at approximately 2:30 a.m. Monday.
Julia Fisher, 21, was leaving downtown an traveling east on MLK Parkway when she allegedly ran off the road and collided with a pole that help up traffic signals across two sides of the MLK Parkway-N. Kerr Ave. intersection.
Fisher, who was taken to New Hanover Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, has been charged with DWI and reckless driving.
